| |
| This section on
home remedies offers safe, natural alternatives to conventional
medicines and treatments. The remedies recommended have been
tried at home or have been passed down from generation to
generation or have been referred from reliable medical literature.
There are several remedies for each illness; many of them are
complex preparations. However, for simplicity the remedies
suggested in this section are restricted to common kitchen herbs
or household strategies. Some herbs like Ashwagandha, Shatavari
have been included as it was felt that the list would be
incomplete without their inclusion. These herbs are easily
available with most chemists in India. |
| |
| Individuals react
differently to these remedies. From the several options available
for each condition select the one which sounds the best to you.
Observe how these work on your system. If the desired result is
not achieved then try another approach. |
| |
| In general,
remedies should be taken till the symptoms disappear which could
be a week to 10 days. However, in chronic cases it may take time
(months) to cure the condition. It must be noted that in certain
cases besides the suggested remedies a change in dietary habits,
life style, exercise program may be necessary for complete cure
or to prevent the re-occurrence of the disease. In any case these
remedies are not a substitute for consulting your doctor. |
| |
| If you are already
under a doctors care these remedies can be used in
conjunction with prescribed drugs. Slowly as your condition
improves dependency on the prescribed drugs can be reduced. All
this should be done with the knowledge and under the supervision
of your doctor. |
| |
| The conditions
mentioned are general or common problems and do not encompass the
more severe or complicated cases. |
| |
| In case of any medical emergency or when in doubt IMMEDIATELY CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR. |
